TECO Air Conditioner Troubleshooting Guide

Type of Problem

What can be done?

Air conditioning unit does not start.

  • Wait for power to be restored.
  • Check that the plug is securely in the wall receptacle.
  • Replace the fuse.
  • Replace the battery

The unit is not cooling or heating (Cooling/ heating models only) the room very well whilst the air flowing out from the air conditioner.

  • Set temperature correctly. For detailed methods please refer to “Using the remote control” section.
  • Clean the air filter.
  • Close the doors or windows.
  • Clear obstructions away first, then restart the unit.
OPERATION (RUN) indicator or other indicators continue flashing. If one of the following code appears on the display area : dF, E1,E2,E3…..

The unit may stop operation or continue to run in a safety condition (depending on models). Waiting for about 10 minutes, the fault maybe recovered automatically, if not, disconnect the power and then connect it in again. If the problem still exists, disconnect the power and contact the nearest customer service centre.

The fuse blows frequently or the circuit breaker trips frequently. Other objects or water falls into the air conditioner. There is a terrible odor.

Stop the air conditioner immediately, disconnect the power and contact the nearest customer service centre.

TECO Technical Air Conditioner Troubleshooting

Status Checking Point Remedy
The motor runs in the wrong direction 1. Is the wiring for the output terminals correct? 2. Is the wiring for forward and reverse signals correct? 1. Wiring must match U, V, and W terminals of the motor. 2. Check for correct wiring.
The motor speed can not be regulated. 1. Is the wiring for the analog frequency inputs correct? 2. Is the setting of the operation mode correct? 3. Is the load too excessive? 1. Check for correct wiring. 2. Check the Frequency Source set in the parameters 00-05/00-06. 3. Reduce the load.
Motor running speed too high or too low 1. Check the motor specifications (poles, voltage…)  are correct? 2. Is the gear ratio correct? 3. Is the setting of the highest output frequency correct? 1. Confirm the motor specifications. 2. Confirm the gear ratio. 3. Confirm the highest output frequency
Motor speed varies unusually 1. Is the load too excessive? 2. Does the load vary excessively? 3. Is the input power unstable or is there a phase loss? 1. Reduce the load. 2.1 Minimize the variation of the load. 2.2  Consider increasing the capacities of the inverter and the motor. 3.1 Consider adding an AC reactor at the power input side if using single-phase power. 3.2 Check wiring if using three-phase power
Motor cannot run 1. Is the power connected to the correct L1, L2, and L3 terminals? Is the charging indicator lit? 2. Is there voltage across the output terminals T1, T2, and T3? 3. Is overload causing the motor to stall? 4. Are there any abnormalities in the inverter? 5. Is there a forward or reverse run command? 6. Has the analog frequency signal been input? 7. Is the operation mode setting correct? 1.1 Is the power applied? 1.2. Turn the power OFF and then ON again. 1.3. Make sure the power voltage is correct. 1.4. Make sure screws are secured firmly. 2.1 Turn the power OFF and then ON again. 3.1 Reduce the load so the motor will run. 4.1 See error descriptions to check wiring and correct if necessary. 5.1 same as 4.1 6.1 Is analog frequency input signal wiring correct? 6.2. Is the voltage of frequency input correct? 7.1 Operate through the digital keypad.
