Installing a New Fujitsu Split System Air Conditioner

The Project

The residential client was located in Rutherford which is approximately 40 kilometres west of Newcastle in NSW.

They wanted us to supply and install a small wall-mounted air conditioning split system for a single bedroom.

The Solution

We chose the Fujitsu ASTH09KNCA Split System as this would be enough to cool and heat this single room. This unit has a 2.5kW cooling system and a 3.2kW heating system.

Controlling the split system air conditioner

The controller has all the functions to operate the air conditioner. These include the swing arm, temperature control, sleep timer, quiet mode and auto-restart should you suffer a temporary power failure. There is also an energy-efficient mode and a filter cleaning reminder. We set the air conditioner to the optimal mode.

Installing the new air conditioner

The outdoor unit was anchored to a concrete slab on the outside of the home. We ran all the cabling through a metal rectangular pipe that went directly into the room. The piping matched the colour of the brickwork.

The indoor air conditioning unit was mounted onto the wall just below the ceiling line.
