The client wanted a heating and cooling air conditioning system for their master bedroom. The property was an older single storey weatherboard home that was built on stumps.

The Solution

As this unit was for a bedroom we chose the Actron Air Serene Series 2 split system air conditioner.

This 2.5kW aircon unit will be suitable to heat or cool a master bedroom. The a/c system will be wall-mounted near the ceiling in the centre of the wall to optimise the distribution of the air.

Controlling the split system air conditioner

With its huge screen and easily readable “plain English” buttons, Serene’s controller is completely new and makes for more sensible and readable everyday use. There is also an optional wired wall controller.

The timer on Serene Series 2 air conditioners may be adjusted in half-hour intervals. To maximise energy savings, programme the system to switch on or off automatically based on your comfort schedule.

The technician activated the swing arms to ventilate the whole bedroom space and adjusted the air conditioner to its ideal cooling temperature. They only needed to press the button to turn it on.

Installing the outdoor air conditioning unit

As the house was built on stumps there was ample space to place the outdoor unit under the home. The Serene Series 2 outdoor system can stop ice buildup. Serene has a sophisticated defrost mechanism that keeps the unit from freezing and guarantees smooth operation in temperatures as low as -25°C when the weather becomes cold in the winter.
