Supply and Install a New Panasonic Ducted Air Conditioner System

The Project

Australian Heritage Restorations commissioned Valley Air Conditioning to install a ducted system into a residential home in Lorn, NSW. The home was being renovated and we chose a Panasonic system that would run various ventilators to every room in the property. The home included a hall entry, two bedrooms, a dining and living area and a kitchen and meals area.

The ventilation systems were discreetly installed into the ceilings in keeping with the architecture of the home.

The Solution

We had already installed a brand new electrical board into the property and it was now a matter of connecting all the wiring to power the aircon. The air conditioning ventilators were installed via the cavity in the roof of every room.

We chose the Panasonic 14kW ducted air conditioning system as this would be enough to cool and heat all the rooms. This system comprises an outdoor unit and a concealed indoor unit. The airflow is distributed through ducting pipes via vents in the ceiling.

Ducted air conditioning systems are efficient and quiet. They add value to your home as this type of system is desirable to home purchasers.

Controlling the ducted system air conditioner

Airtouch manufactures smart air conditioning controllers that can work in unison with the top aircon brands. We chose the Airtouch 5 series with 4 remote controllers. The Airtouch 5 has a wall-mounted digital display that lets the user control the temperature airflow into every room. You can also control the system via an app on your mobile phone.

Installing the new air conditioner

Installing ducted systems is generally a straightforward process as there is room in the roof to work around. This was a very old home with a high-pitched roof. We cleaned the area and then inserted the system. We attached the ducted piping from the system to all the rooms. We then set about carefully inserting the vents through the ceiling. All the electrical wiring ran through the cavity of the walls .
