Redhead, Newcastle based GVS Reliability Products is a company that implements condition monitoring strategies to benefit plant owners and operators that increase the safety of the people who work with and around industrial machinery.
Their work environment has a Daikin R32 Inverter ducted air conditioning system. For this type of system to run at its optimum it needs to have a service plan.
The task was a full inspection, service and cleaning of the ducted airconditioning system.

Servicing the Ducted Air Conditioner
Initially, we verify the absence of leaks in the piping and ensure compliance with industry standards for all connections. Regular AC maintenance can significantly reduce costs, particularly in systems catering to a large number of users. Following the inspection of pipes, connections, and ducts, we conduct a pressure test to ensure optimal performance of the ducted air conditioning system. We also check all the electrical wiring.
Cleaning Ducted Air Conditioner Vents
Cleaning ducted air conditioner vents is crucial for maintaining indoor air quality and system efficiency. We start by turning off the power to the unit. Remove the vent covers carefully and vacuum or wipe away dust and debris.
For a deeper clean we use a brush attachment to loosen stubborn dirt. We wash the vent covers with mild soap and water, ensuring they’re completely dry before reattaching. We use a damp cloth to wipe down exposed ductwork, removing any accumulated grime.
Regular cleaning prevents allergens and mould buildup, ensuring the system circulates clean, healthy air while optimising airflow and reducing strain on the unit.
