The residential client had noticed that the split system air conditioner was giving off an odour that was not normal. A brief inspection revealed that mould was spreading throughout the system. After inspection, a deep clean of the aircon unit and service was required.

The Solution
We used a safe chemical solution to remove every sign of the mould that had spread throughout the system. All the vents were cleared and cleaned of dust and debris that had gathered in the filters.

How to prevent mould from getting into your air conditioner
Toggling through the menu will reveal a setting specific to your brand of air conditioner. There’s a built-in dehumidifier on the ‘dry’ setting that can assist in reducing the amount of moisture in the air within your house. Another way to locate it is to search for the water droplet symbol.
Regular cleaning of your air conditioner is recommended. Make sure the filters are installed correctly and are clean. They are the first protection you have against mould spores.
