Supply and Install New Fujitsu Ducted Air Conditioner
The Warners Bay Project: The local real estate agent contacted us to decommission the existing split system air conditioner and replace it with a ducted air conditioning system. This was a rental property and the landlord wanted a cooling and heating system that would service the entire property.
Project Details
- Client – Residential
- Property Type – Single-storey residential weatherboard house
- Location – Warners Bay, NSW
- Task – Decommission and remove the current Mitsubishi split system air conditioner and replace it with a new Fujitsu ducted air conditioner with AirTouch controller
The Solution
Firstly, we got a layout plan for the house from the real estate agency. We then inspected the property including the roof cavity and determined that an 11.1kW Fujitsu ducted air conditioner would adequately heat and cool the property. The house plan and inspection enabled us to precisely mark out where the indoor unit in the roof cavity would sit and where all the ducts to the rooms would lead. This also enabled us to mark where the vents would be placed in the ceiling.
Removing the old air conditioner
First, we had to cut all the power to the indoor and outdoor split system units. Once this was completed the indoor unit was removed from its wall mounting. The outdoor unit that sat under the home was removed. Both these units were taken back to the workshop to be stripped down and used for spare parts in future breakdowns.
Installing the new air conditioner
The outdoor unit was to go exactly where the old unit was placed. The indoor unit was to be safely housed in the roof cavity. From this unit, all ducts would feed to the rooms that they were going to heat and cool. Once all the ducts were in place we set about installing and connecting the vents.
Electrical Fitting Warners Bay
When air conditioners are removed and replaced with new a new air conditioning systems all electrical circuits must be powered off. We employ certified electricians to carry out these procedures. Each electrical wiring connection is tested before the unit is switched on to ensure safety.
Controlling the Fujitsu High Static Single Phase ducted air conditioner
To control the air conditioner we installed the Airtouch 5 controller. This controller offers multiple settings including advanced metrics on how to optimise your airflow output and save on energy costs From the remote controller there are multiple settings you can engage:
- Set individual room temperatures
- Monitor energy use
- Multiple styles
- Receive alerts on your mobile
- Control the air conditioner from your mobile
With the elegant touch screen, you have total control over the heating and cooling of exactly the rooms you desire, saving money and maximizing comfort. Plus, you can easily manage anything from anywhere with the exquisitely designed smartphone app!
