The Solution
Servicing the Air Conditioner
This is an old Carrier Inverter air conditioner system that has been functioning properly for a number of years. The outdoor unit was positioned under the home and exposed to dirt and debris being blown into the area. We removed the A/C cover and took off the air filter. There were two filters that were filthy and covered in dirt. We used an organic chemical filter to clean and then replace the filters into position.
The indoor unit had also built up grime and dust over the years and had not been cleaned. We cleaned all the filters and louvres. The louvre arm or swing arm was not automatically rotating and louvre spare parts for this system were not available from the supplier. The client could manually adjust the louvre arm.
